The kids did not lose out on gaming too... Today (Sun) was one of their scheduled gaming day and in fact two of them specifically requested for Ticket to Ride! So Ticket to Ride they did.
Wai Yan introduced another group of younger gamers to Pickomino. Having played Designer Games for a few months, this batch of children is quick to pick up the gameplay, and very soon they were contesting hotly with each other for the juicier worms!
One of the many things these children learnt when they game at our centre is the responsibility of packing up the games after they are done playing. They count the pieces too to make sure there's no missing pieces.
The greatest satisfaction I'd recently was when I saw this young kid deep in thought playing Samurai.... I'm sure it greatly stimulated his young brain!

We had a surprise visit from a gaming buddy of mine.. who came by wanting to join the Boardgame Kids session. No, not him but his children of course. :)
Anyway we were sorry to disappoint him as our children session has already ended earlier. But I was so tempted to ask him to stay for a game or two of Puerto Rico. keke..... But I do look forward to having his children join our gaming sessions in the near future.
UPCOMING ACTIVITIES
This month (July), we are hoping to start two things related to Using Boardgames for Children; 1) a 2nd Kids Game Day session at Trisha & Sasha in Hartamas, and 2) Terra Children workshop (a half day educational workshop using the game card game Terra by Bruno Faidutti).
