You got to choose them from the "Insert Smiley" dropdown list.... or alternatively surround them with square brackets for eg to show the smiling emoticon which is ":)", you add the square brackets "[" and "]" around it to become ""

There so many emoticons to select, but cant see how does it looks like. Could i test it out at this post?

you can actually select the smiley and then click on the [Preview] tab of the message input box. at the top of the input, you shud be able to see [Compose], [Options], [Related] and [Preview]...

.. or are you also using Gorrilla FriedBox?
