While the BoardgameCafe.net crew is away at Essen for SPIEL 2015, some OTK regulars met up at our previous meetup venue OLD TOWN KOPITIAM Cheras for a night of Barony and Galaxy Rolling…. read on to find out their impressions of these two games.
An evening where we planned to ROLL THROUGH THE AGES ended up with two sessions of THROUGH THE AGES instead. Both (the rare) 1st Edition and (the erroneous) 2nd Edition were in play. Find out the future of THROUGH THE AGES in 2015. This completes a trilogy of gaming sessions that started with Rahdo’s Top Ten Heaviest Games and ended with Vlaada’s Thru the Ages.
No theme, just free-n-easy and more than 10 different games hit the tables from the oldies like SETTLERS OF CATAN to Knizia’s RA, the chaotic TOP SECRET SPIES, and some newer games like TZOLKIN and RIVER DRAGONS. Hmm.. Maybe we should let things go more free-n-easy in future.
This was a mid-week meetup on a Tuesday mainly due to this being a public holiday here in M’sia. There was some buzz lately on 18xx and we decided to make today an “18xx Day” with all newcomers to the 18xx game system welcomed to come and try it out! Did we manage to have some new converts?
18xx made a long-awaited comeback to the OTK tables with 18SCAN in play. Before that, the gamers warmed-up with Roll thru the Ages and LOTR Confrontation.
