The Orient Express now departs from OTK….. err, once a year?

To many, the Orient Express is a once-a-lifetime adventure given how prohibitive a ticket is. Likewise the 18OE Orient Express (one of the many 18xx titles we at OTK enjoy) could be a once-a-lifetime experience given how prohibitively long the playtime is (12hrs min?). Anyway we decided to give this game a spin on a mid-week public holiday. Read on to get a good overview of how this game plays out, and where next for the Orient Express? 

Warning: Monster Kickstarters incoming!

As I write this, one monster kickstarter has ended (CTHULHU WARS) while another (18OE) is just 64 hours to go before closing. None of them are going to topped this April’s massive 2.2 million secured by ZOMBICIDE 2 yet both of these are much larger either in game components / expansions and gameplay. OTK Meetup 30/9/2011

Friday’s Game Night at OTK and tonight’s no exception as we saw a variety of games hitting the tables LAST NIGHT ON EARTH, CARGO NOIR, SURVIVE, TOK TOK WOODMAN, POWER STRUGGLE, 1960 MAKING OF PRESIDENT, TIKI TOPPLE, F.I.T.S, CITADELS, and FRESCO. 18TN was the R1 game for the table of veterans with Hiew getting his first toe-dip into the 18xx series and BATTLESTAR GALACTICA resurfaced as the R2 game to close out another fantastic gaming night! And special thanks to all the gamers who helped us set up the tables & chairs earlier!! You guys are the BEST!

OTK Meetup 23/9/2011

First Friday meetup at the new OTK saw train games hitting the tables here and there with TICKET TO RIDE, RAILROAD TYCOON and 1889 SHIKOKU in play all in R1. Sid Sackson also had a good day with both his CAN’T STOP and ACQUIRE being brought to the tables. Other games seen were REPUBLIC OF ROME, HEY THAT’S MY FISH, TOK TOK WOODMAN, 20TH CENTURY, IN THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON, GLORY TO ROME, SPEICHERSTADT, NUNS ON THE RUN.
