BOARDGAME RETREAT 2010 – a full day’s gaming to your heart’s content!!

Boardgamecafe.net is happy to announce that our (first) BOARDGAME RETREAT is now confirmed for this coming July 17th (Sat). This will be an annual community-based retreat that is devoted primarily for like-minded boardgamers like yourself to gather and enjoy each other’s company over a full day of gaming!

 

 

This Boardgame Retreat is a friendly gathering of boardgamers and a great place for you to learn new (and old) games as there will be no less than 16 different boardgames being played over four tables.

 

Although the major focus is on the competitive four rounds of boardgaming played from 9 am till 6 pm, there will also be the “open gaming” sessions conducted informally by some gamers after dinner! This is the time where you’ll get to play those boardgames that are often spoken but hardly played such as DUNE, 18xx, Twilight Imperium 3, etc

 

 

For this year, the Boardgame Retreat will be held 6,000 feet above sea level at the First World Hotel GICC (Genting Highland) on July 17th (Sat). Entry fee is only RM130 and this covers one buffet lunch, two coffee breaks, one BGC retreat t-shirt and a full day of gaming!

As the event is limited to 16 pax, we’ll confirm your participation on first-come first-served and paid-basis.

As we are only doing a one-day retreat for this year, most gamers are free to go as they please after the event ends at 6 pm. Some may prefer to stay around and enjoy the cool Genting air, while others could be heading back home.

 

However for the hardcore gamers, they can stay around for the Open Gaming session after dinner! A group of us will be hosting some of the more niche and longer-play-time games in the After-8 Open Gaming session.
