We all have our own “races” to run. And our own reasons for running those races. However every year, around this time of the year, everyone puts aside their own “races” and run for Terry Fox. (who’s Terry Fox?)

 

 

Boardgame is a passive hobby. One that taxes your brain no doubt. But hardly your physical fitness. Getting out to the road and having a good run (or walk) is essential as a balance.

 

Does boardgaming and running rhyme? Read this blog entry and let me know what you think. 😛 It’s my sincere hope that more boardgamers hit the road for a good run!

 

 

The Terry Fox Run is a popular charity run in support of the Cancer Research Initiatives Foundation (CARIF) and is held yearly worldwide. This year is the 31st anniversary of this run and they’ll be marking it by holding a run cum carnival event (good for the whole family) at Padang Merbok this Nov 13th (Sunday).

 

 

Since 2009, Boardgamecafe.net has supported and will continue to support this event as part of our corporate social responsibility and we would luv it if we can get our community of gamers (ie you!) – and their family members – to join us and participate in this event.

It’s run, walk, bike… whatever! You do not have to “run” if you do not wish to. Your participation in the event itself is more important to Terry Fox than actually running the course itself. 🙂

 

 

It’s also a Carnival for the whole family! Bring your friends, family members and children along… there’s FUN for everyone!

 

 

Having said that, I’d taken a look at the route for this year and it appears it’s a rather fine route to do a 5 KM jog/run if you are in the mood. J
